Synopsis:
Film director MARK BRADY is on a collision course with personal and professional self-destruction. His reputation in tatters, Mark is little more than a drunken party boy, hungry for anything that will make his days and nights slip by painlessly.

But he's given a “last chance” to rehabilitate himself and his career. An “Adventure Television” Network hires him to direct a fishing show set in the stunning scenery of the Scottish Borders. There are two conditions: he can’t booze it up, and he must pamper to the show’s temperamental star, TAYA HONEYWELL - his ex-wife.

Once in Scotland, everything that can possibly go wrong goes wrong.

Taya's antics drive the fishing guide or “ghillie” to quit, and an extraordinary dry spell creates the lowest water levels in years. There are no fish to be found in Scotland, let alone to be caught and photographed. But the Scottish ladies want to do more than photograph Mark.

Under pressure and in the midst of chaos, Mark struggles to persevere, but the fine Scottish whisky and lovely Lowland lasses lead him back to his old ways.

Mark opts for a “quick fix, poaches a fish and stages a catch for the camera. But the scheme goes horribly and hilariously awry as he's “busted” by a most untraditional ghillie: the beautiful, gifted and sensible single mom NICKI McADAM.

Mark's shocked to discover that he's actually attracted to the simplicity and warmth of Nicki’s quiet rural life which she shares with her enchanting young daughter, JENNY. Mark hesitatingly opens the door to his own heart and the two start to break through their personal barriers and draw closer to each other.

They're falling in love, but there's still no fish. Then the skies open up and heavy rain recharges the rivers. Mark starts shooting the final segment of the series on a rushing stretch of the River Tweed with Nicki. Trying to keep Jenny from slipping into the river Mark falls into the churning water. Nicki dives in to save him and both are swept unto the rocks but finally reach safety.

The shoots over, and Mark’s still in love. Yet he can’t make a life changing decision overnight. He leaves without saying a word. Once back home in British Columbia he realizes that he is really lost. He yearns for the love he shared with Nicki and Jenny and the meaning that they brought to his life.

He picks himself up, turns his back on the bottle, this time for good, and edits what he managed to shoot into a fast-paced and funny reality outdoor show that the Adventure Network immediately orders for two years. With his career back on track, Mark makes a dramatic return to Scotland to savour life and love with his new family.
